"Felt welcome"

About: CGL Birmingham

(as a service user),

I've been an alcoholic for 17 years. I first done an intuivtive thinking skills course run by Joanne after being referred by Luke. It was very insightful and helped me prepare for the road ahead. I then started my detox and never believed it could change my life. All with the help from Sian, Sham the nurse and all the volunteers, Sue, John and Shelley. Also can't forget the lady that set everything in motion, Michelle. It's only early days but I am 19 days abstinent and actually have goals which I never did before. From the moment I reached out I felt welcome, reassured that it's ok not to be and I can talk and ask for help. The people mentioned above listened and advised every way they could. Amazing service and anyone that's struggling with an addiction I recommend CGL highly, from the people I mentioned earlier to people reception to even people in recovery that come in for help, everyone is lovely - I'm trying to think of any negatives but I honestly cannot think of any. Thank you for all your help. You've all turned my life around.

Dear uniformrh36,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback about our services, we really appreciate all kinds of feedback. My name is Tasneem and I'm part of the team that listens to feedback like yours.

Hearing how both us and Intuitive Thinking Skills have helped you is amazing to hear! The staff members you mentioned will definitely be happy by your kind words and I'll make sure they're aware of your positive feedback.

Even though you say it's early days, you should still be proud of yourself because that is great progress after being an alcoholic for 17 years. Hearing that you now have goals is so nice to hear because setting goals motivates you to achieve them which is a good mindset to have.

I'm so glad you felt reassured and felt you could talk to the staff, your kind words of recommending our service could inspire someone to get the support they may need so thank you. Mentioning that you felt our service has turned your life around is amazing and we're just happy to have supported you throughout this journey. I hope you're proud of the progress you've made so far and I wish you all the best in achieving the goals you have set for yourself.

Kind regards,

Tasneem
