About: Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Reported to A&E as recommend by walk in center with spinal pelvic trauma. After a few cursory questions was told to sit in the waiting room on a hard plastic seat and wait for doctor. After 3 half hours waiting a tanoy announcement said it is at least a 5 hour wait to see a doctor. I was in severe pain . There is no way you can talk to anyone and no one checks in your condition. Occasionally a face will appear from behind a door and shout the name of the next patient but that's all you see of staff.. as I was in so much pain I'm also epileptic and asthmatic I had to leave to go home to get my painkillers and other vital medication. Yes you read that right. I had to go home from A&E to get pain relief medication. The whole experience was worse than appalling it was sheer neglect of duty of care . If there was another hospital to visit I would but sadly there isn't. logo
