"Positive C Section Experience"

I had an elective c section in Daisy Hill following an emergency section with my first baby in Craigavon in 2020.

The experiences were like night and day. The staff in Daisy Hill blew me away, incredibly caring and reassuring, relaxing me from the moment I stepped on to the ward. The staff made me feel like they had all the time in the world for me (when in reality I know they were likely snowed under). Nothing was too much bother and their bedside manner was perfect. Even my husband felt like he was being looked after well and he wasn't a patient!

The theatre team were diligent and respectful, answering all of my (silly) questions and worries and making sure I was at ease. I was petrified of the epidural and both midwives held my hand and talked me through each step, so much so that I didn't realise the epidural had even been completed! 

I was checked on multiple times on the ward to make sure I was comfortable and baby was OK. I stayed only one night but in reality could have stayed a week as I was so well looked after.

My first birth experience had me terrified of having further children as the labour and postnatal stay were horrible, but my stay in Daisy Hill has me persuaded that a third baby would be just lovely!! :)

Forever grateful to each and every staff member I encountered for such a lovely birthing experience.
