My son is newly diagnosed as type 1 diabetic. We arrived at the Emergency Department in Antrim Area Hospital for our appointment, staff were all lovely and very reassuring.
Linda the nurse in ED triaged us and we were seen very soon after by the Doctor. Within 1 hr my son and myself were admitted to A2. Joanne admitted him and the process began from new diagnosis to education and treatment over the next few days.
The care we received was absolutely amazing and continues to be. We were looked after by fantastic nurses, Patricia on night duty and Kelly Ann during the day.
The dietician Paula was amazing giving us the information and education around diet and diabetes. the Paediatric Diabetic nurse specialist team have been amazing and are always available for any questions we may have
