I was an elective admission in June 2022 to the Medical Day Unit. However I ended up staying overnight in Ward 103 following my procedure.
I can only describe The Medical Day Unit as a well oiled machine. The staff were so professional, friendly, attentive, caring and kind and I felt at ease within a few minutes of being there. The care and attention I received was first class. I was taken to the Cath Lab by a friendly Porter and met the lovely team of nurses that would be looking after me during my procedure. The team was led by Dr Flapan. I was treated with kindness and care and felt from the onset that I was in very good hands.
The procedure wasn’t straightforward but I was constantly given reassurance and excellent care.
I was transferred to Ward 103 for overnight observation and here the care and professionalism continued. The nurses could not do enough for me, they were all very professional, kind and looked after me so well. Dr Flapan reviewed me following my procedure and also the very next day. He took time to explain the procedure, what had happened and gave me the reassurance I needed going forward. I am so thankful and grateful to have been under Dr Flapan's care and the care of the amazing nurses that looked after me.
"I felt from the onset that I was in very good hands."
