"all staff, from consultant to ..."

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

all staff, from consultant to housekeeping were professional, approachable and thorough. Medical staff took time to explain everything thoroughly, and answer questions. housekeeping staff were cheerful and helpful. cleaning was thorough and frequent.

What could be improved

the only improvement needed is the food. it was disgraceful - even the staff serving it were embarassed. i didn't know it was possible to turn courgettes grey! My family ended up bringing in sandwiches - not very nutritious when recovering from mahor surgery!!

The catering team always endeavours to provide a range of meals to suit all tastes which are both varied and nutritious. We are extremely disappointed to hear that this was not the case. We do encourage individuals to report instances when food does not meet their expectations during their stay in hospital so that any issues can be addressed at the time. A member of the catering team is always willing to visit patients on request to discuss any concerns they may have including any special dietary needs.
