"My illness and hoped recovery"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as the patient),

Around 3 weeks ago gums started to bleed badly and non-stop. Platelet count was at 3, and went down. Had fluid in my lungs and some bleeding, I think my lung collapsed. Moved to ICU for chest drain, which was obviously very difficult without any platelets. I was scared, felt like I might not make it and, in all honesty, but for the work of the ICU don't believe I would be here today. I can't be more complimentary about all of the staff, they have cared, supported and I hope I can say saved my life. Slow progress being made, but progress....and I will hold onto that.

I am so glad that you are making slow, but steady progress and may this continue.Thank you for the compliments you made regarding the staff in ICU, I must agree that they are all an exceptional team. I will share your feed back with them and I know that they would join me in wishing you continued progress.
