(as a relative),

I recently attended a gynaecologist appointment with my mum, my mum is an 83 year old lady who is hard of hearing. Hence the reason I went with her. I was so disgusted by the way she was treated by the male member of staff we saw, after staying quiet for a few minutes I eventually asked him not to be so rude. I then demanded a female nurse to come into the room, after the appointment was over my mum was crying about how she was treated.

I have complained to managment who did write back to me but I'm sorry this is not acceptable as I don't believe that anything will be done. I have wrote another letter to management but this was a while ago and they haven't even had the decency to reply to me. I want to see someone so that I can tell the full story to them as when I left the appointment I wrote everything down of what happened. I would hate to think others are being treated like my mother was. Totally disgusting and not acceptable at all.

Dear Upset fifer,

I was very disappointed to read your mothers and your experience when she attended the clinic as we strive to ensure that everyone who visits our women's health clinic is treated as an individual, with respect and dignity and wish to extend my sincere apologies this did not happen on this occasion.

In relation to your complaint, I again apologize that you have not been reassured by the response you received. If you feel able and willing to contact me, I will be able to organize a face to face meeting with myself and our divisional manager. This will give you the opportunity to share your story and for us to share what work has been undertaken since this event to improve the service offered.
