"Very impressed by Audiology"

About: Wycombe Hospital

(as the patient),

I visited the Wycombe Hospital Audiology Department today. I have needed hearing aids for the past twenty years and lived in a different NHS catchment area which, for many years, provided me with a good service. Unfortunately they were recently closed down and outsourced their service into the private sector which, in order to ensure a continuance of a high level of departmental expertise and experience,  prompted me to to find their equivalent in my  new NHS catchment area. I found this to be located in Wycombe Hospital which is within 10 minutes of my home and made an appointment.

I was seen on time, received a hearing test, and was able, there and then, to be supplied with new hearing aids which were far superior to those I was wearing ( and which I would no doubt have received had I been able to stay with my original NHS audiology department).

I was very impressed with the equipment and sound proofed room and especially with the friendly and help attitude of the audiologist who was at great pains to explain the superb functionality of the new aids very clearly. I can honestly say that there has been a considerable improvement in the clarity of my hearing.

I should like to congratulate Audiology on being an NHS field leader in supporting all us ‘hard of hearing’ both in the issue of equipment ( which is money well spent) and the patience, experience and friendliness of its staff.

Thank you!
