"Recent hospital visit"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Had to bring my son in due to him being very poorly. Although my initial experience was a bit shambolic and the wait for a dose of calpol was unacceptable my faith was soon restored by the amazing doctor and nurse who we were sent to and they really went out their way to try and help and find out what was wrong with him. It was a very lengthy process but we were checked on regularly and offered drinks which was so kind. My opinion on this hospital has been very mixed over the years and overall quite negative experiences but tonight has really changed that. The overall running of the hospital seems extremely chaotic but I’m sure it doesn’t help that people sometimes present to a&e with very minor issues that could probably be treated by a GP or even a pharmacist. Thank you to all who cared for my son tonight hopefully he is on the mend.
