With covid restrictions lifted for the outside world of the belfast trust or health trusts the co foundation group skills for MBT are still running online I wish it was a smooth experience to get connected every week! But it really wasn’t!

First week I received no link! Rang that morning and receptionist was anything but helpful had me ringing round meaning I was getting so stressed out in the end I got so annoyed I requested they to go and knock on one of the facilitators doors to which they said they couldn’t do that.

However I was told it’s important you don’t miss a session to be transferred into the Self harm and personality disorder team!

Anyway,

Following week I got a link but it didn’t work!! Brought me to a waiting area I was so anxious and stressed I ended up forgetting about it when I informed a staff member I was told I was at risk of being removed of the MBT skills group as I couldn’t get on despite me not getting ANY links from the trust!!!

This was such a handling and a mess it places a lot of stress onto someone who’s already mentally very Unwell

If it wasn’t for my keyworker Joanne intervening and assisting me to find a solution I’d have been completely lost!

The belfast trust need to revise the delivery of these courses, face to face staff training has resumed in a neighbouring trust I don’t understand how face to face services aren’t resumed

Dear fornaxdd66,

My name is Debbie McKnight and I am a team leader within the Belfast Trust.

First of all thank you for sharing your experience of accessing the co-facilitated group. I want to apologise for the issues that you had being able to access the group effectively.

I am sure that you can understand that due to Covid, we were required to limit the risks of meeting in person to keep our users safe. I can understand how frustrating this can seem when so much of normality appears to be returning, but I hope that you appreciate it was a concern for safety that was at the heart of our decision-making process.

I can imagine that it’s very frustrating to be attempting to engage and access the training and not be able to, we know the impact this group has for our users. I’m really pleased that Joanne was able to help you, and I hope that you are now finding a benefit from the group.

I am pleased to say that as the regulations around distancing have changed within the Belfast Trust, we are now moving to an in person group, and I do sincerely hope this is useful to you, and I know I can speak for the team when I say that this is certainly something we are looking forward to.

Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, and evidences how important not only our service is, but having reliable access to the training can make such a difference.

Thank you again, and I send you my very best wishes moving forward.

Yours,

Debbie
