"Consultation at fertility clinic"

About: Gynaecology and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare / Fertility Clinic

(as the patient),

I attended the regional fertility clinic a few months a go, I felt the consultation was completely inadequate. I was diagnosed with PCOS in the appointment and it was just as if they were reading from a script. I was not given any information on PCOS, all I was told is that it is very common and to lose weight. I left the clinic in tears as I felt I had been waiting on that appointment for a while and i was walking away so disappointed. There was no support or advice on how to try and conceive naturally or what I could do between the appointment and my review just to go away and lose weight to be able to get on the waiting list.

I feel that doctors need to be more empathetic.

Good morning,

I am really sorry to read of your negative experience here at the RFC. I would be really keen to hear from you personally so we can have a conversation and look into these issues. Could you call the RFC and ask to speak with me?

Thank you
