"Not a ‘Great practice’ anymore ☹️"

About: The Courtyard Surgery

WHY do I have to explain my personal health issues to a receptionist???

I received an sms from the surgery to say my Dr had a message for me.

After an hour on hold - I got through to a receptionist

The message was I needed a face to face appointment.

I had to then explain WHY the appointment was necessary although the Dr had requested one.

Obviously the receptionist wasn’t persuaded it was be essential for me to see that DR.

I felt demeaned, rudely treated and not listened to - and very upset.

Thw result of the call was I have an appointment for 6 weeks time - with a completely unknown Dr - I fear having to start the horrible upsetting belittling process again.

Surely a system to treat patients as human beings can be initiated in this day and age - and maybe not using reception staff to triage patients would be a good idea.
