"Extremely poor wait times and communication"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I arrived at RPH at 1.30am after vomitting blood for the previous 2 hours. I was seen by the triage nurse and I had my bloods taken fairly promptly. However, after being told the waiting time to see a doctor had increased from 9 hours to 12 hours, I left for home at 8.30am and would see my GP about the results from my bloods. I received a phonecall at 9.30am saying I needed to come back to the hospital immediately. I asked if this was necessary because I was starting to feel better but he assured me it was. I arrived back at RPH at 12.30pm and I was finally seen by a doctor at 8pm. He told me that I seemed fine and that no further action should be taken, but he wanted to check with another consultant. After waiting another hour, I left at 9.15pm for home. When I arrived home, I received another phonecall explaining that I need to head back immediately and stay the night for an endoscope in the morning. I arrived back at 11pm and was told there was no bed available like they promised and I was forced to sit in an uncomfortable chair for a further 12 hours until my endoscope. They stressed the importance of me staying the second night, even though I cannot see any reason why I couldn't have the comfort of my own bed and come back in the morning.
