"NHS attitude to care"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5) University Hospital Monklands / Trauma & orthopaedics University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

This about my son, he has been in every hospital, Wishaw, Monklands, Hairmyers. His ankle operation failed last October but the medical care he has received is in our view neglectful considering the symptoms.

I feel it is a disgraceful attitude to care, he has now developed cellulitis. For four days we have been trying to get help, no help, tonight we went back to Hairmyers,. We waited outside, somebody came and said my manager said you are fit for discharge. They never spoke to a doctor or nurse, turned away, the cellulitis is red swollen spreading, and blisters, the way they are trying him I don't even have words tonight, we as a family are at the end with this, don't know who to turn too. I feel the NHS is needing a big investigation.

Dear hadargk47

Thank you for taking the time to share your son's recent experience. I am sorry to read that you feel that his care has been neglectful and that you are not receiving any help and support.

I would like to look into your son's situation in more detail and would be grateful if you could contact patient affairs on 01355 585325 so that we can review.

My sincere apologies for the distress that this is causing. I hope to speak to you soon.

Kind regards

Lise
