I arrived into Paediatrics ED on Friday as my child's temperature was very high and started to develop a lot of rashes. When we first came in there was a long wait and there were already people sitting on the seats outside.
I know it’s a small area outside the paediatrics but it would be helpful if there were more chairs outside it as I was standing for a long time with a child in my arms which wasn’t the most ideal situation.
After a while we eventually got speaking to one of the doctors and they were very helpful as they told us that they will need to run some tests on my son.
I felt involved in the care of my son because the doctors were explaining everything very thoroughly and making sure that I was okay with the decisions they came to. The doctor listened to all my concerns and answered all queries that I had.
So far everything has been good they brought us down to Blossom in the evening as we spent most of the day in the ED (emergency department).
The nurses on the ward have been very good as they are helpful and supportive, they have also offered me tea and biscuits which was lovely.
At the moment my son is being treated and I am grateful for all what the staff have been doing. Thank you.
