"TRAQs is a waste of time and I am still suffering"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

In December 2012 I went to my own doctors with pain in my hand. She said it was carpal tunnel and would refer me to hospital. Two phone calls from TRAQs and 4 letters later, I have seen a doctor at Euston House, who confirmed it was carpel tunnel with thenar wasting and weakness. He said I required urgent carpel tunnel release.

So, I am now thinking I would receive an appointment to have this done. But no another phone call from TRAQs offering me an appointment to go to hospital to see a doctor in April.

So, from December to April I have not moved forward. What a waste of time and I am still suffering. TRAQs is a waste of time and I am still suffering. TRAQs is a waste of money, buildings, staff and admin. Before doctors got straight in touch with the hospital and you had an appointment. As far as I can see, TRAQs is not a move forward.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am disappointed to read that you do not feel that TRAQS helped you. TRAQS was created 1 year ago at the request of Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group and GPs to enable patients registered with GPs in Telford and Wrekin to be offered Choice of hospitals or Community based providers. TRAQS relies upon your GP to provide information to enable then team to offer you a Choice of suitable hospitals.. TRAQS is able to offer patients an appointment with most NHS providers in England and many patients choose to travel for an earlier appointmrnt or to be seen at a specific hospital or by a specific consultant. Previously patients had to be seen at whichever hospital their GP sent their referral to and Choice of Provider was not consistently offered. TRAQS ensures that Choice is always offered in line with the Patient's Charter. We would like to thank you for your comments as the TRAQS team appreciates all feedback whether positive or negative as it helps us to develop the service further for the benefit of our patients.
