It feels strangely typical that something as broad and varied as mental health issues Is approached in a way like box checking. Whilst I’m sure it’ll help some people I found the service dismissive and condescending. If you struggle to articulate an answer that fits their check box it feels they just want exact details, on a subject like mental health that’s so chaotic I just don’t find it a benefit. To say things about suicidal thoughts just being the same as intrusive thoughts and everyone has those to be a bit dismissive and unhelpful. I sadly think private is the only way to go, as I’m kinda tired feeling so judged and pressured by nhs services, if you talk a certain way, don’t articulate something correctly or push how important it is there’s this horrible pressure of judgement. Yes you need consultations and evaluations, but the way everything seems to boil down to fitting in a box or if you answer something you can’t decipher and feel unsure of such as voices being external or internal it feels like there’s no grey area, i just found the experience unhelpful and another instance of them putting way to much pressure on a person in a bad headspace to try and organise it just so they can fit in a predetermined check box
"Not for me, another fit in a box service."
