"Concerns about care on AMU"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

(as the patient),

I was in severe pain when a senior nurse shouted at me to wait. They then said to another patient who was improving-That’s what I like to see, people getting better. Unlike some!

The nurse then later approached me and stroked my hair saying -that’s my lovely girl. This experience felt emotionally abusive.

Dear TayRiver,

I'm very sorry to hear of your experience whilst in our AMU and would be keen to gather more information from you to allow us to investigate this further.

I'd be grateful if you could make contact with me at the email address below and once again, I'm sorry your experience was not a positive one. Within our AMU we endeavor to provide the highest standards of care to all patients at all times and where this has not been the case we are grateful for feedback and the opportunity to explore any concerns raised.

I would also like to apologise for the delay in responding to your comment.

best wishes

Jane Brown
