"Gender clinic staff"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

Very poor shambles of a service, if you are transgender and have Autism it seems impossible to get treatment in Leeds. Instead as a transgender Autistic patient I was discharged for a period of 6 months from the gender service, it felt like this was as time on the naughty step for having a meltdown after being overwhelmed with information. They wont sit down and speak to me to make reasonable adjustments to help you with my care. It seems this is only ever done to Autistic patients, they then ask the patient's doctor to rerefer them after 6 months, only to go back on a 3/4 year waiting list to be seen.

In the letter it says that to get any care in future the patient must never become overwhelmed with information, complain or have a meltdown. I feel threatening and bullied because of having Autism. It feels like they are oblivious to disabilities. Trying to get an autistic person to make a promise for their autism never to effect them again. It makes me feel like nothing better than dirt on their shoes.
