Over the last few years the services in Audiology have been very frustrating. The biggest problem is that we only have 1 audiologist with no back up for when they are unavailable. There’s been a few occasions where I have been left without a hearing aid/hearing aids for weeks due to there not being adequate cover. I have had quite a few appointments cancelled (all of which I had taken time off work for, only to get a call the day of the appointment to say it’s cancelled yet again). I have had to try and attend work with no hearing aids in, which is nigh on impossible and it’s so frustrating and upsetting when you don’t know when the problem will be sorted.
My hearing aids are my lifeline and those of us who use them need to be able to get the help when we need it.
