"Care from the OPAT Unit"

About: Victoria Hospital / Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT)

(as a service user),

I attended this unit for 3 weeks for IV Treatment daily. The unit was run with precision and the two consultants were very through. They were approachable and explained everything precisely.

Emily who put in my line was excellent in her role.
The four members of staff who attended to me   on a daily basis, Emma, Lynn, Avryl and Val, went over and beyond my expectations. They were professional, caring, understanding and very cheery with great senses of humour. I have a real phobia of needles and they were understanding and supportive. I feel it was an unwanted learning curve for me but should I have to visit the OPAT unit again I will be a little less anxious.
I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone.
Thanks again for my care
