"Travelling long distance for Endoscopy Appointment"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / General Medicine

(as the patient),

To  have this  procedure I had to travel approx 70 miles to  Perth  -  because it is no longer carried out at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Fortunately my husband was able to drive me there,  using  a sat nav, to find the hospital plus a parking place.   No mean feat especially as he is in his late eighties.

All hospital staff were excellent in every respect and I cannot praise theme enough. They also expressed surprise I had had to travelled so far!!!!

What I find post unacceptable is having to travel all that distance with Stracathro Hospital ten miles away, Ninewells Hospital thirty miles away both of which did Endoscopy referrals in the past.

I appreciate that Covid has caused changes  to take place.

All hospital staff were  extremely efficient and most understanding

Thank you for your feedback, I will share your nice comments with the nursing staff.

I apologise you had to travel this distance for an endoscopy. You are aware we do not offer this service at Stracathro anymore. If you would like to make contact with me I can look into this for you. Regards Wendy Dowdles, Senior Nurse, Medicine 07814051423
