"Excellent care and coordination"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My mum has complicated health needs and had developed worsening oedema in her feet and legs. After discussing with her GP the possibility of increasing the dosage of her diuretic medication, they decided that in order to rule out blood clots that she required to be examined  at University Hospital Wishaw ED.

She discussed her concerns with Professor Patel and then phoned ahead and within 20 minutes of arrival mum was being assessed. An appointment for Doppler ultrasound was arranged for the next day. She attended and was given the results the same day at the ambulatory care department by Dr MacGregor who prescribed increased diuretics.

I cannot commend enough the excellent care and attention she has been given throughout her healthcare journey and once again in this instance she has received timely help and advice.

The pressures on our NHS are higher than ever but we must support the staff of this wonderful organisation in any way we can to make sure that healthcare in our country remains free and accessible to everyone.

Heartfelt thanks to all.
