"NHS WIFI"

About: Mount Gould Hospital

Have been an inpatient on Skylark Ward for the past five and half months, my only way of communicating with family is via the free NHS WIFI.. the WIFI does not work most of the time, I am unable to make calls over WIFI as no mobile signal. I can just about send a basic text message which at times can take over 15 mins to send. What is the point in providing a free service which to many patients is their lifeline to outside world if it does not work..

Dear Nick

We are so sorry to hear about your prolonged stay in hospital and we would like to assure you that the problems with the intermittent Wi-Fi have been acknowledged and escalated by senior management and work is underway to improve its connectivity. The ward does have a cordless phone, which can be used, but we appreciate this is not as convenient as using your own mobile to contact family and friends.

Kind Regards

Teresa
