I’m well into the second year under the wing of Fife Rheumatology and a roller coaster year it’s been. Not helped by my RA not responding to the prescribed medication plus some nasty flare-ups. But I’ve been grateful for the efforts of everyone - from the admin people up to Consultants - to try and get it under control.
However, having been approved for a new course of treatment, I have been disappointed at the (several weeks) time cycle from approval, through counselling call then delivery of meds and programmed visit by the out-sourced Provider for the first injection.
The in-betweeny period has coincided with a rough flare-up and resulted in a real struggle with mobility and use of my hands (down to the simplest tasks like getting dressed or going to the loo).
This isn’t intended as a moan-fest so may I finish by repeating my thanks to Fife Rheumatology and especially Gillian (Physiotherapist) and Christine (Specialist Nurse). Without their help and advice my morale would have taken a much greater tumble.
