"How do you get an appointment?"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

I have been trying for three days solid to get an appointment at the surgery. The new automated message advise that your call is being transferred, you then get a message saying your call cannot be transferred try again!

I wasn’t sure after trying for so long if there was a problem, I therefore pressed another option  at the beginning to speak to someone to ask if there was a problem with the appointment line. I was advised there was no problem and that it meant it was engaged! I asked if going into the surgery to make an appointment in person was possible I was advised not!

How on this earth is this acceptable that you cannot get through on the phone and are not allowed to go over to make an appointment in person! What should I do? How do I get to see a doctor?

Good afternoon Adele 1973

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding obtaining an appointment with your GP.

I am sorry you are having so many problems, unfortunately GP's are independent contractors and have no responding rights on Care Opinion. I would therefore advise you to contact the Practice Manager of your Medical Practice to highlight your issues.

I trust your concerns will be addressed and rectified.

Again, apologies for the distress this may have caused you.

Kind regards

Jean
