"Acute Care at home is fantastic for our son"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Enhanced Care / Hospital at Home

(as a parent/guardian),

We as parents of our profoundly disabled son would like to thank each and every one for the excellent care our son received when known to your team. Communication was key and everyone communicated every step of the way.

Without this service our son would have had to remain in hospital which is neither designed or equipped to meet his complex needs. Being at home allowed him to keep his routine and the very experienced staff that attended our home three times a day provided him with his IV’s.

Staff were attentive and respectful and it was reassuring for us as parents. Staff communicated with him without using pet names and respected that he just liked to be called his name.

Also thanks to the teams in the Emergency Department in CAH and the staff in 1 South for the care provided.

Good morning - Thank you so much for your positive feedback on the Acute Care at Home service. We appreciate how important it is for people to receive care in their own home, where possible, and your story highlights just that.

I have passed on your positive comments to the team and I know they will be delighted.

I hope you and your son are keeping well
