I attended A&E at Monklands yesterday morning after having a sudden onset of chest pain while out shopping. With the pressures currently faced in the hospitals, I was anxious about attending but felt it would be best to have it checked over as there is a cardiac history in my family.
I arrived at A&E and the waiting room was busy however I did not wait long to be seen. The staff nurse Adam who greeted me in the department instantly put me at ease. He reassured me and advised I made the right decision on coming along and advised what the process would be in the department. He was kind, caring and made sure that I was ok while I was in his care. His care was outstanding! Thank you Adam!
I was then transferred to the Ambulatory Unit (not sure if this is the correct name sorry) and was greeted by another nurse Roseanne who again was absolutely outstanding! As a nurse myself, I know she went above and beyond for me and left no stone unturned when it came to assessing and treating me. Her care was person centred and she communicated everything clearly to me. Thank you Roseanne for looking after me so well! Both the departments were spotless and all of the staff in both were wearing PPE at all times. I am fortunate enough that I have not had to attend A&E or use of acute services for my health, and was therefore anxious however, the staff I had the pleasure of meeting were nothing short than incredible. Thank you so much!
