"Cloughreagh House"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came to Cloughreagh after being in hospital after a bad fall at home. I came with some trepidation, not having heard of it before but immediately on arrival, I got such a warm welcome and friendly help which has lasted throughout my stay. The staff were all very professional and that includes the physiotherapists, OT, district nursing team as well as the Cloughreagh staff.  The accommodation is very comfortable and adequate for me and is kept immaculately clean.  The garden is just coming into bloom and a pleasure to look at as well as sit in.

In the era of face masks wearing and the difficulty of old age hearing, I feel it might be helpful for staff to wear name badges.

Everyone has been very kind to me here and I will miss them all when I leave.

Thank you for sharing your positive comments I will pass these on to the Manager the Cloughreagh Team and the wider multi -disciplinary community team

Thank you for sharing what is important for you and what you noticed during your stay about Name Badges. I agree with you its very important that we all identify ourselves to those we are providing care for and talking with This is particularly important as you have highlighted when wearing face masks as often everyone looks the same especially when also wearing similar uniforms.

The simple act of knowing the name of staff member can help form a better bond, create a personal connection, and reduce stress. We also know that a name badge enables a better understanding of the staff members area of specialty and helps our residents know what questions to ask if they want to share something or have a query or a problem

It is important that or staff all introduce themselves properly and wearing a name badge improves interaction and recall of who who you have been talking too.

Your story has been very important for us to hear and share. I will be reviewing the importance of wearing name badges not just in Cloughreagh but across all the services in my line of responsibility and with other colleagues.

regards, Tierna Armstrong
