Anything else?
My mother has had a poor time since being re-admitted to Solihull Hospital. Only one consultant has shown any interest in her ailments (and that was a brief encounter) and the standard of hour-by-hour care has been extremely poor.
- There has been virtually no clinical interest in her intake of food, whcih means that she is weakening.
- Drugs prescribed to her have been left on her bedside table and not checked to see that they ahve been consumed (they have not been, in all instances).
- There has been little communication of status or of the timing for discharge.
- Nurses have been slow to respond to requests for moving my mother from chair to bed and vice versa, and for help in using things like the commode.
I did not appreciate that the NHS - if Solihull is representative - has become so care-less and uncaring.
"Poor attention to care and dignity"
