I arrived at A&E with intense ongoing pain in hand and arm. Three nights without sleep. GP had already diagnosed possible CTS.
I was assessed immediately by a nurse. Within 2 minutes was checked more closely by another nurse. In less than 5 minutes was seen by a junior/trainee doctor who listened, checked with a colleague then gave advice and printed information. Also fitted a firm brace - which has definitely helped.
Altogether a positive, reassuring experience even though the pain continues as I wait for orthopaedic appointment.
Also a clean, pleasant environment with due privacy and understanding.
My husband had to drop me off as he went in search of parking. Three different people he spoke to were extremely helpful in enabling him to find me - they were able to track exactly where I was in the hospital system.
Thank you to everyone involved. Real teamwork!
"Fantastic; helpful, caring and efficient"
