"Reception need training"

About: Southsea Medical Centre

Called for an emergency appointment at 8am for my child who was showing all symptoms of diabetes and I even mentioned this to her but as a receptionist she decided this wasn't an emergency and I had to go online and make a e-consalt at 10 am. I compleated the econsalt and it recommended I see the doctors today but the line was engaged for 4 hours and when I eventually got though the lady said we don't have any appointments left.

The reception/office staff here need thorough training in listening to patients and recognising a medical emergency.

I manged to see a doctor the next day and turns out our son has type 1 diabetes and was rushed to the hospital which he spent 3 days.

I will request an investigation on the matter which has delayed treatment to a child for one day.
