I was induced at the PRM (Princess Royal Maternity Hospital) earlier this year to give birth to my first child. I was incredibly well looked after during the induction process right through to my transfer to labour ward.
In labour ward things progressed very quickly. I was looked after by student midwife Nichola and a qualified midwife. The care given by both midwives was exemplary and it is hard to believe Nichola was a student, she was kind, extremely professional and reassuring.
I found the process overwhelming and difficult particularly as my baby went into distress and we had to be taken to theatre for delivery but the care given by the midwifery team was excellent and at no point did I feel myself or my baby were at risk due the calm nature of the midwives and doctors.
I also wanted to say thank you for the midwives for affording me a great deal of dignity during what is a vulnerable time for any woman - they are a credit to the profession!
