"Successful surgery"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Urology

(as a service user),

During the past 2.5 years Benign Prostate Hyperplasia was progressively obstructing my urinary outflow and leading to recurrent bacterial prostatitis.  I had 4-monthly telephone consultations with staff doctors and PSA tests.  When my outflow became painfully slow I phoned the consultant He listened and understood and thankfully put me on the "Urgent" list.

I had successful surgery 4 months later.

I have worked in the NHS for over 35 years as a senior Medical Secretary in various specialties. I currently work in the Urology Department providing PA services to the clinical team.

Dear hamruniz

Many thanks for leaving such positive feedback with regard to your investigations and care under the Urology Department at Barnstaple Hospital. I am sorry that your BPH necessitated prostate surgery in the end but pleased that your consultant was able to expedite your procedure and that your surgery was successful.

May I wish you well for your continued recovery.

Kind regards

Paula
