"Surgery fine, post surgery follow up very poor."

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital

Good experience of day surgery at Jubilee Centre. Lovely and very professional staff in recovery and good post op care on site on the day. This is usual in my experience of Jubilee Centre.

Very Poor follow up after surgery.

Post surgery review appointment by phone ..waited 5 hours.Nothing .

After three phone calls was told that appointment had been cancelled and letter re biopsy was to be sent. Wasted my time.

Plastic Surgery department when I phoned was either "no facility to leave messages" or the voicemail box was full. Uncontactable.

As a patient with an ongoing recovery to manage I was denied the opportunity to discuss why my wound isn't healing yet or whether it needed further or different care.

I was not afforded the opportunity to discuss on-going wound care. No chance to seek advice. No opportunity to ask how to avoid recurrence of the problem that had led to surgery.

I wasn't told by the department of the cancellation of my post surgery review despite reorganising my morning to be available.

As a patient I expect to be listened to rather than this dismissive approach. I am used to other departments at COCH Trust who are respectful that as a patient I have questions or need information post surgery.

I expect to receive notice of cancellation appointment which happens in other departments.

This department is quite a way below the standard of my experience if other department I have been in the care of.
