So having been given a prescription I could only collect from the blackburn hospital pharmacy I luckily parked on the car park to then que for 45 minutes in the hospital corridor for them to take the prescription. People around me told me they had then been waiting well over an hour to then recieve their prescription, I had my 2 children with me and baby so I decided to leave the prescription with them and said I would return that evening to collect. The pharmacist took my phone number and said they would call me if anything was out of stock... this was on a Friday morning. I recieved no phone call so went back to the pharmacy that evening to collect the prescription again with my children as I had no choice but to take them with me. I qued again for around 35 minutes this time. One of my children has autism and adhd, she was at this time of day very over stimulated and her behaviour can come across to strangers as her misbehaving, so being stood in a busy corridor for that long was very challenging and a very stressfull experience for me. Eventually after a further 15 minute wait I get PART of my prescription and was told the other half was out of stock, you can imagine my frustration at this point. I wasn't happy at all but just got on with it as I just thought that with it being a Friday they may have just been having an off day. I was told to come back Monday to collect. Monday came and unfortunately my daughter was poorly so I couldn't leave the house. I tried to ring the pharmacy throughout the day around 6 times ! The phone was just ringing out I couldn't get through, I wanted to try arrange delivery for the remaining medication. Tuesday came daughter was still poorly so tried to ring all day again and no answer. Wednesday I felt poorly I didn't even attempt to call them because I had got the hint, they do not answer the phones. Thursday morning came, dropped the kids off at school and only had my baby, perfect time I thought to collect the remaining medication. Again parked on the car park as i thought I'd be in and out seen as they had the prescription for so long I surely thought it would be ready and waiting. Qued again for around 25 minutes this time, it was getting better. She took the name and went to look for the prescription.... 15 minutes passed she came back and said they couldn't find it but she will sort it now for me and it will be a few minutes. I was devasted !!! .... waited a further 30 minutes and finally got my prescription. During this time, many people had gotten that frustrated with the service they had juat walked out ... staff were arguing with each other in front of customers! .... my overall experience was awful, they Need a new system or better training . I would not reccomend using this service. Its a shame because it let's the brilliant hospital down . I dread ever having to go again.
"Awful Experience, very unprofessional "
