I was nervous about attending Forth Valley Royal Hospital for my Vasectomy. I was put at ease by the staff in the Urology department on arrival. They explained the process and timescales very clearly, which helped to keep me calm and manage my expectations.
In the operating room the surgeon (Dr Parkin), anaesthetist (Ben) and the 2 Nurses (unfortunately I didn't catch their names) all did a magnificent job. They worked very professionally as a team, signposting as we went along and reassuring me every step of the way. Dr Parkin carried out the procedure very quickly but extremely carefully and skilfully, whilst the Nurses kept me talking to distract me. Once the procedure was complete, I couldn't believe just how easy the Urology team had made it for me. What really struck me was the skill, care and professionalism shown at all times during the procedure and my visit. They really deserve praise for the great job they are doing and the high standards they maintain, especially given their working conditions over the last 2 years. Dr Parkin and his team are a credit to the NHS, and I just wanted to express my thanks and gratitude to them.
