What I liked
The junior doctors were caring
What could be improved
The nursing staff needed to listen better observe more, be more empathetic, less judgemental, more patient, place more emphasis on basic nursing skills . My mother was an in-patient who had a most unhappy time on this ward. She broke her glasses because a nurse refused to acknoweledge her disabilities, she was left in pain, because the nursing staff did not recognise her anguish, her nutritional status took a nose dive, because the nursing staff did not have the patience to help her with her food and listen to her needs. As a former nurse I am greatly saddened and upset by this failure in nursing care and human kindness. Perhaps the experience is best summarised by my mother,
"I'm a nuisance to them, they want to get rid of me"
