"Doctors great when you see them but... "

About: Great Sutton Medical Centre

Other staff need training in being sympathetic and understand what is going on in someones head. Worst scenarios etc. I've needed to contact the doctors for an ongoing condition that is still being investigated. As recommended I followed all guidelines to go through EConsult. This failed saying I need to contact the practice as could be urgent. I ring, tell them econsult said so, they couldn't help, had to try again next day (and you wonder why the hospitals are so busy!). I ring the next day, finally get an appointment (not with a doctor). Never have I felt so useless and alone. They made me feel like I was wasting their time. They never looked at any notes I made (I struggle to communicate things in person). I'm anxious that I have something seriously wrong, and they didn't have a caring bone in their body. Wanted me out as soon as possible. They recommended trying to take ibruprofen to ease some symptoms. Told them I can't as had an allergic reaction to it. Their response was that it was an uncommon reaction and to try again! Seriously! On a positive, when you finally get through to a doctor, they have been great.
