"So poor this is what is posted out to patients"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a service user),

Booklet sent out beforehand states for patients that are getting treatment without sedation will receive pain relief Entonox (gas and air). There’s quite a bit of detail on this. Got to the theatre/treatment room to be told this isn’t offered at the RAH.

Not the fault of the staff on the ground but so so poor this is what is posted out to patients and alleviates anxieties for patients who aren’t or can’t get sedation to then be told it isn’t offered.

But I must say, the staff on the ward, each and everyone were absolutely wonderful. Exceptional in fact. I couldn’t fault a single one and I would hate to  single out someone for a commendation as genuinely each person I came in contact with seemed so genuinely kind, caring and I must say above and beyond their role. Their genuine kindness and compassion shone through and obviously goes without saying they were all amazing at what they are there to do too.

All round a fantastic team.

Dear CCMum

Thank you for getting in touch via Care Opinion.

At this moment in time we are unable to offer Entonox at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and I would like to apologise for the confusion and for any additional stress and anxiety this caused you.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will amend the information we sent to patients to ensure that they are aware that Entonox is not available at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This will also be discussed at the time of booking an endoscopy procedure.

Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the staff in the ward and these will be shared with them.

Best wishes

Natalie
