"Beatson West of Scotland Parking"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

(as a service user),

It is atrocious trying to get parked at the Beatson! I have a Blue Badge and that doesn't even help. How can I, who is driving myself, get in for treatment? There are numerous cars on double yellows with parking tickets - how is that fair? I doubt you'd be parking at the Beatson or Gartnavel unless you had to be there. And if you are lucky enough to get parked, the disabled spaces are terrible to try to walk out of, big stones and uneven ground. It's hard enough going through cancer and having significant bone damage, without this added stress. And there's no-one to help or guide, but even if there were, they can't magic up spaces. It's very stressful as you can see from my rant!

Dear RibsSchmibs

Thank you for getting in touch with your feedback.

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with car parking at the Beatson. Car parking is a significant challenge at most of our hospital sites and I appreciate how frustrating and stressful this is for our patients and visitors. (Even more so when attending for treatment.

I have shared your post with my colleagues in Facilities who are responsible for car parking and have asked for a response.

If you have issues with parking please contact a Car Parking Attendant (identifiable in high visibility jackets) and they will find a bay or make an individual arrangement for you to get to your appointment.

Kind Regards

Nicole

Update posted by RibsSchmibs (a service user)

Thank you very much for your speedy response, but I've never seen carpark attendants at the Beatson.

Dear RibsSchmibs

I have contacted my colleagues in Facilities. They have advised that if you cannot find a parking space and cannot see the Car Parking Attendants you can contact them 07966037076 or 07970236506 for assistance. (The car parking attendants are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm).

Facilities will also share your feedback with CP Plus and ask them to focus on the car park at the Beatson.

Kind Regards

Nicole
