"Great hospital despite Covid backlog struggles"

Second time I've had breast cancer care at OUNHS Trust, 2016 and 2022. Breast surgery at Churchill and then at private hospital delivered by Churchill NHS staff. Received excellent care, my surgeon was clear and spent time having many extra conversations to address my concerns. She was always attentive and had a gentle and calming manner. The BCC Nurse, surgery staff, anaesthetist etc were all great. I just hope they've managed to get it all out. Also had chemo twice at Horton which is part of this Trust. Staff are all lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. Highly skilled. There were a few issues in organisational areas, luckily nothing had a major effect but could tell that post/existing Covid pressures are creating strain on the system. My experience in 2016 was almost faultless, efficiently organised but in 2022 this has changed. Think all the departments need better procedures to help cope with the sheer numbers of patients they now have to process. Overall highly recommended. Thank you OUH staff!
