My mum was moved from Forth Valley hospital to the Bellfield centre in Stirling. She was admitted to the Wallace suite. My mum had been in hospital for 5 months. I have to say, I wasn’t sure about the move, but it ended up being the best thing that could have happened for my mum and us as a family. The hospital itself is lovely with a big airy room and the staff are second to none. My mum was at end of life and passed away 2 weeks ago, but she was so looked after in there. The staff really cared about her. She was always comfortable and cosy in her bed. Her her hair was brushed, moisturiser rubbed in, clean nails - they just took such good care of her in her final moments. 2 nurses stayed with us and one held my mums hand when she took her final breath. I can not thank or praise them enough. Such kind and compassionate staff, from head of the ward to the cleaning staff and everyone in between. I will forever be grateful that my mum spent the last weeks of her life there, and again, the staff are just wonderful - they are a credit to their profession.
