Last week my mum (87 years old) attended the continence clinic at Hunter Health Centre in East Kilbride. She was seen by Gillian, who was concerned because my mum's bladder was not emptying properly . Within an hour of arriving home we received a call from the “hospital at home “ team. A senior assessment nurse, Mhairi,  arrived and took all the information, stats and bloods. Next came a consultant and finally Gillian came back to fit a catheter and therefore avoiding my mum being admitted to hospital .

All members of the team treated my mum with the utmost respect and displayed a level of professionalism whilst being sympathetic to her condition . I would like to say a huge thank you to the professionals for such an outstanding job. In times when the NHS is often under fire, I cannot rate them highly enough. Thank you all for an outstanding service

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

I am pleased to hear about the excellent care your Mum received both from the Continence Service and at Hospital at Home ( and all within an hour!). Both teams show exceptional professionalism and compassion and have worked well together to keep your Mum out of hospital.

I will make sure I pass on all your lovely compliments to Gillian and the rest of my Continence Team as well as Mari from Hospital at Home.

I hope your Mum is recovering well and wish her well for the future
