"Advice and support"

About: Advocacy Support Cymru

(as a service user),

I was admitted to hospital by my family in the hope that I will get better, as I was overloaded with work and another personal matters.

Despite the hospital staff and family convincing me that I was not well enough and to stay, I wanted to go home.

One day Deborah showed up and said she was here to advise and help me in getting home, and she working with me to get me back home.

A few days later (even that felt like 1,000 years in hospital) she came back and sat with me while I spoke to the doctors.

Having Deborah present in the meeting made me feel confident and I was able to tell the doctors I how I was really feeling.

It is great to hear that you felt more confident in being able to talk to your doctor with the support of advocacy. Thank you for providing feedback on the service you received.
