"Great care for my father in A and E"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My elderly and disabled father attended Ulster hospital A and E in early April 2022 and despite 60 patients waiting for hospital beds, he was treated with such care and respect in the 2 nights he spent there.

My siblings and I were so humbled to hear that one of the wonderful nursing staff gave her phone to him to watch Liverpool vs Man City, and another gave their own porridge to him, as there was none available. It is so comforting to know that despite being on his own, he was looked after with such care and respect.

Hi Surujb

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your fathers experience in the Ulster Hospital Emergency Department. It is great to hear the staff went above and beyond to provide compassionate care and the little extra touches made you feel reassured that he was being very well cared for despite having a long wait in ED.

I will share your comments with the staff who will very much appreciate them.

I do hope he is doing well. Give him our best wishes.

Kind Regards

Jenny

Lead Nurse ED
