"Bowel Flare-Up"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Acute Medical Initial Assessment Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Gastroenterology (Stomach and Gut)

(as a service user),

I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, dietitian, nutrition nurse and healthcare assistants for the care that I received on Ward 101 and 104. I was admitted with a flare up of my bowel which happens from time to time due to slow colon transit. I was unfortunately unable to manage my symptoms at home due to vomiting. The care that I was given on both wards was outstanding. Staff were friendly, had time for patients and despite being busy they always took the time to make sure that you were comfortable. Mr Smith (Gastroenterologist) was reassuring and Melvyn (nutrition nurse) listened to my concerns about my recurrent PEG tube infections. The nurses were all caring and attentive and special thanks to Nicola and Claire for my care during my stay on Ward 104 and Jessica on Ward 101.

Good afternoon,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback.

I am so pleased to hear that your experience in Ward 104 was a pleasant one given the circumstances. I will be sure to share this feedback with the team, they will be delighted to hear this and it will bring some positivity to them during a time where there is so much pressure on the service.

Thank you again and wishing you all the very best in your recovery.

Lisa
