"Looked After By Kind A&E Staff"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my daughter to the Children's Hospital A&E when I was worried about her symptoms. The staff were very helpful, and Dr Olivia (sorry, I forgot her surname) was very kind to my daughter, and reassured us about her symptoms. I'm very grateful to all the staff, including the receptionist, whose name I did not get, who was kind enough to get us some water, and the triage nurses who checked in on us whilst we waited.

I think it would be helpful if there was some way for the families to get snacks and food for themselves and their children whilst they are there, and was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a vending machine, but I appreciate that is not at the discretion of the A&E staff.

Dear blackbirdbb35,

Thank you for your response on Care Opinion regarding your visit to out A&E, I hope your daughter is doing well following her visit.

It was lovely to hear the staff, from the receptionist, nurses and medical staff, were all very kind and you were able to be reassured from Olivia about your daughter's symptoms.

We do have vending machines within the hospital that you are able to access, although we do not have any within the Emergency Department itself. I understand it is not always easy to leave the department, especially during the covid restrictions to access the machines, however, glad to hear you were able to have access to a drink while you were in the department.

We will pass on your thanks to the team and I am sure they will be delighted by your comments.

Kind Regards

Mandy

Dear Blackbirdbb35

Thank you for taking the time to compliment the staff in the Emergency Department who helped look after your daughter and yourself during your recent visit. I hope your daughter has recovered well. I have passed your lovely message onto Dr Olivia and she was very grateful for your kind words. I will also share with the reception and nursing staff.

Kind Regards

Wendy
