"Admission to hospital after allergic reaction"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Acute Medical Initial Assessment

(as a service user),

I was admitted to ward 101 last week after suffering an allergic reaction to penicillin. The care I received from staff was simply amazing. I have a 9 month old baby who is currently breastfed and will not take a bottle so I was very anxious about coming into hospital. The staff ensured my baby and my husband could stay with me the entire time so I could continue to feed my baby and have my husband look after him. One member of staff got a reclining chair for my husband so he would be more comfortable and Lindsay, the nurse who looked after me over night, arranged to bring over a cot for my baby to sleep in!

Lindsay was an absolute angel! She went above and beyond to make sure all three of us were ok!

Every single member of staff from the medical staff to the auxiliary’s were so lovely and attentive! We were so impressed with the care we all received!

Dear ekn2415,

Many thanks for taking the time to write in about your experience and your lovely comments. I will ensure this is shared with Lindsay and the rest of the team and know how much this will mean to them.

I hope you are feeling better and recovering well

Julie
